Making the change from writing non-fiction to contemporary romance has been a long time coming.
It began when I was nine years old, already a precocious reader gobbling up everything from Dickens to Sherlock Holmes stories, but I’d never read a romance. Until my mom gave me Jane Eyre to read…I was hooked. Edward Fairfax Rochester was the first alpha male to permeate my young consciousness. Shy but feisty Jane was his perfect foil. That was the beginning of my love of romance and the feast continues.
I stumbled into non-fiction writing after leaving Brooklyn, NY where I was raised to move with my family to eastern Pennsylvania near the Delaware River. But after a number of years I decided to leave non-fiction behind and live out my dream of writing romance.
Fast forward: My daughters are grown, and I have a scrumptious grandson who fills me with joy. I also have three rescued granddogs–two great danes and a pitbull who are sweet loves. I still live near the river on a lovely, quiet bluff with a rescued kitty…the perfect place to dream and spin tales of love and passion.
Hugs,
Izzy
